Cologne-based artist Agnete Sabbagh is a visual storyteller; the motifs are representations of a brief moment captured photographically – sometimes they are photo details from old coffee-table books, sometimes her own photographs. Her works are surrounded by a mysterious painterly atmosphere created by the application of an ancient wax technique – encaustic or photoencaustic.

Agnete Sabbagh is active as an artist for over 20 years. First as a calligrapher/commissioned work, then since 2018 in free art with a focus on lettering art & mixed media art/photoencaustic. She studies in Comparative Religion and German Literature, M.A. and lives and works in Cologne and Calpe/Spain.
